1. Set SMART goals

Your goals must be SMART, meaning to be Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and Time-Based. This way the achievement of each goal is easier, and your effort is productive.

2. Write down your goals

Once you realize your goals you need to write them down. They must be clear, specific and time-based, i.e. you must set a deadline for each one of them. The detailed list of your goals will be your map. In that map include key-personons whose cooperation will be important.

3. Identify the obstacles you will have to overcome

The 80% of the obstacles which are holding you back from the realization of your goals are inside yourself. They are the lack of a skill, a quality or knowledge. Only 20% of the reasons you are not achieving your goal are on the outside. Always start with yourself.

4. Identify the skills & the knowledge you will need

Especially, identify the skills that you will have to develop to be in the top 10% of your field. Your weakest key skill sets the height of your income and your success. So, ask yourself “what one skill, if I developed and did it in an excellent way, would have the greatest positive impact on my life?”.

5. Make a plan – prioritization of goals

You cannot do everything at once. You need to set priorities, to indicate which of your goals are emergent and which are not in order to set the right sequence. For each day choose 1 or 2 goals to attain. Step by step you can reach the greatest accomplishments.

6. Develop the habit of self-discipline

Once you have decided what is your primary task, you need to stay focused on it. Work on it single-mindedly, without diversion or distraction, until it’s done. That will double or triple your productivity.

7. Visualize your goals

Every single morning visualize your goals and your destination. See your goals as they were already achieved. How would you feel about it? Imagine yourself being there and the emotions you would have. Visualization will develop you the skills you will need, too, because the subconscious mind cannot tell the difference between imagination and reality.
